Medical Risk Assessment Program for Practive Prevention
RAPPP is a program designed to evaluate common risk factors that affect aging and general heath. By utilitzing standard and specialty laboratory testing along with appropriate imaging studies, patients undergo a thorough evaluation. Hormone balance and nutiritional issues often play an integral role in maintaining health and are included in our assessments. Because every individual is different, our approach may be variable. The following descriptions are general and explain our approach.
Hormone Balance
The old paradigm was - as we age, our hormones decline. The new paradigm is - we age because our hormones decline. Our approach measures endocrine function and points direction to a more optimal hormone state.
Cardiovascular Assessment (CV)
Cardiovascular disease is still the number one cause of death and morbidity. In the past 40 years, medicine has not reduced the incidence of vascular disease significantly. Hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, diabetes and obesity are the major predisposing factors influencing vascular disease. Familial or genetic predisposition is another variable. While statins have been helpful in reducing dyslipidemia, the rising incidence of obesity and insulin resistance has off set these gains. Surgical procedures including angioplasty, stent insertion and coronary artery by-pass grafting have increased the life span of individuals with coronary artery disease. These are therapeutic, not preventative measures. Our approach to reducing CV risk, addresses these predisposing conditions. We utilize the most current ultra centrifugation techniques in lipid analysis to guide therapeutic/preventative recommendations. Risk assessment includes coronary artery calcium deposition and ultrasound or MRI evaluation or carotid, abdominal aortic, and peripheral artery blood flow. Laboratory testing addresses genetic predisposition and other metabolic issues which contribute to these risk factors.
Nutritional Evaluation
The RDA (recommended daily allowance) for vitamins and minerals is the amount needed to prevent serve deficiency, not necessarily for optimal cell function. Newer techniques are now available to optimize cellular function. FIA (functional intracellular analysis) allows one to measure how our cells utilize fats, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. Food sensitivities often cause a variety of concerns including gastrointestinal symptoms, apathy, fatigue, lethargy, headaches, insomnia, and weight gain. Utilizing several specialty laboratories, immediate and delayed food sensitivity/allergy testing can help identify the source of these conditions. Resolving these often aid in weight loss and energy production. Proper hormone balance is critical to weight loss and overcoming insulin resistance.
Testing
Additional risk evaluation may include routine health care, laboratory and screening tests. We frequently utilize ultrasound or MRI organ specific imaging. The latter two techniques do not expose the individual to radiation. If a condition is found to be beyond our scope of practice, we will refer our patients to the appropriate specialist.
Hormone Balance
The old paradigm was - as we age, our hormones decline. The new paradigm is - we age because our hormones decline. Our approach measures endocrine function and points direction to a more optimal hormone state.

Fee Schedule
Comprehensive Initial Evaluation
$1200 includes: Initial comprehensive visit (medical history review, physical examination, risk assessment testing plan) and one comprehensive follow-up visit to review all testing results and outline individual prevention program.
Follow-up Visits
Thereafter, are $200-$400 depending on complexity
Please Note
Testing (blood tests, imaging studies, speciality testing, etc.) are not included in the fees. Testing costs will vary from individual to individual depending on needs and complexity. Some tests may be covered by existing insurance, but some may not. Speciality labs may require that a credit card number be on file, to prceed with the tests.
All fees are due on the day of visit.
