Symptoms of Prostate Disorders
Please Note...
First, it's important to know that you may have a prostate disorder and still have no symptoms. Prostate Cancer, in particular, often has no associated symptoms, especially in its early stages.
Common Symptoms
These symptoms may be associated with a prostate disorder. If you are bothered by any of these symptoms, taking the IPSS Test and/or seeing a urologist may be helpful.
- Incomplete Emptying
You find that after urinating you feel like you have not completely emptied or need to urinate again shortly thereafter.
- Frequency
You find that you are urinating more frequently than you should.
- Intermittency
You find that you stop and start during urination.
- Urgency to Urinate
You find that you are overcome with the need to urinate quickly and may not be able to postpone urination.
- Weak Stream
You find that your urinary stream is slower or weaker than you think it should be.
- Straining
You find that you must strain or "bear down" to initiate or complete urination.
- Urinating During Sleeping Hours (Nocturia)
You find that your sleep is interrupted by the need to urinate.
- Hesitancy – Taking Time to Start
You find that it takes longer than you think it should to start urination.
- Leaking, Dribbling or Incontinence
You find that you are passing urine at times when you do not intend to.
