Prostate Cancer Survivor, Urologist Larry L. Bans, M.D. Announces Release of Prostate Cancer DVD – Your Prostate Biopsy is Positive – Here’s What You Should Know.

Prostate Cancer DVD Designed, Produced From Both a Patient’s and Physician’s Perspective

PHOENIX (June 7, 2006) – Larry L. Bans, M.D., a prostate cancer survivor and founder of Prostate Solutions of Arizona, announced today the release of his prostate cancer DVD entitled Your Prostate Biopsy is Positive – Here’s What You Should Know. Drawing on his expertise as a prostate cancer specialist and his experience as a prostate cancer survivor, Dr. Bans designed and produced the DVD to be a valuable resource and starting point for patients newly diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“When a patient is first diagnosed with prostate cancer, they are hit by a flood of questions about next steps and treatment options,” Dr. Bans explained, “This 30 minute DVD takes a very thorough approach to explaining it all – beginning with a review of what the biopsy itself means, additional tests that may be required, and an extensive look at the treatment options and their various pros and cons.”

The DVD contains computer-animated models and illustrations to help explain many of the treatment options that are currently available. These animations help the patient get a look inside the body to understand what areas of the anatomy are affected in the various procedures. Dr. Bans’ DVD also contains a risk assessment guide to direct the patient in deciding on his best treatment option.

Your Prostate Biopsy is Positive – Here’s What You Should Know is available for purchase on Amazon.com for US $29.95 plus shipping and handling. Those who would like more information on Dr. Bans’ DVD should visit www.psa.md or call 602-426-9PSA (9772)

About Prostate Cancer:
It is estimated that prostate cancer will affect one in six American men. About 230,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer annually and about 30,000 men die of the disease each year. This makes it the second leading cause of cancer death in men behind lung cancer. Men with a family history of cancer or high-risk ethnic backgrounds are advised to receive examinations starting at age 40. More information is available at www.psa.md
